If you have been involved in an accident and have suffered injuries, you contact a car accident attorney at our law firm today. When claiming compensation from your insurance company, although it is helpful, you don’t need a police report. If you have been involved in a car accident and you don’t have a police report, don’t worry! You can still file an insurance claim without a police report. In many vehicle accident claims, police reports are important pieces of evidence. This evidence will have to prove that you were involved in the accident, the scene of the accident and that your injuries are related to the accident. To claim successfully, you will need evidence. Once the claims department (separate from your auto damage adjuster) receives updates from Horace Mann, they'll call you and give you updates on the status. If you have been involved in an auto accident and have suffered injuries, you may be wanting to file a claim to receive compensation. Once GEICO pays, they'll start subrogation against Horace Mann to get the money back. You'll have to get that estimate done in order for GEICO to go after Horace Mann for the cost of repair. An auto damage adjuster will be assigned to review the damages to your car. A CSR will set up the claim for you and gather all information. If you call GEICO, report the claim and explain what's happening. This, however, can take anywhere from a few days to several months there isn't much controlling the timeframe. When Horace Mann accepts 100% liability and agrees to pay GEICO back for that money, then GEICO would advance your deductible to you. GEICO will pay for your repairs less your deductible, you will have to pay the deductible if you get your car fixed. You "may" get reimbursement for your deductible, it is not guaranteed. If you file a claim with GEICO, and they pay for your damages, and they recover money from Horace Mann then you likely won't see an increase. Rates are traditionally affected when you are at fault, your insurance pays out, and rate increases are how they recoup the losses (so to speak). Your premiums could be affected by a claim on file, but if you're found not at fault then it likely won't affect your rates. The end result could be a citation for the other person. You can still file a police report for this, you can follow up with your local precinct for better information on how they would handle it.Most attorneys would tell you that it'll cost you more in fees than what you'll get for damages in your car. You could get a lawyer involved in this, but most lawyers deal with bodily injury claims rather than property damage (ie damage to your car).If I call Geico now, what should I tell the representative in order for my insurance company to help me with this?.Will I get reimbursement withmy deductible if i decide to file for a claim?.Will my premiums go up if i file a claim with Geico?.Is it too late to file for a police report (it has been 2 days since the accident). I'm tired of being jerked around by the culprit and his insurance company. Please I really need advise on what to do. If im not wrong, arent I paying GEICO to do this for me? Aren't insurance suppose to represent us or do the leg work for customers? Im pissed off at the lady at Geico told me not to file a police report when their website says I had to file for a police report esp if im not at fault of the accident. Three days I have been calling them non-stop but all I ever get is either their voicemail or a prompt that they'll call me back which they never ever do. Now I'm trying to call up this other guy's insurance adjuster (Horace Mann) as I was advised by GEICO and they are completely ignoring me. We exchange infos, I got a picture of his license, ID, ID and plate number together, his face (& full body) but I didnt file a police report because when I called up GEICO they said theres no need to file for a police report at the scene. No injuries but the hit messed up my bumper big time. Last Tuesday, a guy hits my parked car (with me inside it) while backing up his truck.
